He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Byrd and Rachel Strider Byrd; his daughter Christy Verlen Byrd; his brother Phillip Byrd; and his sister-in-law Linda Byrd.
He is survived by: his siblings, Steve Byrd of Mount Gilead and Sue Byrd Brookshire (Matt) of Mount Gilead; and his grandsons, Brandon and Justin Ingram. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
