He is survived by: his children, Jack Thompson of Mt. Gilead, Steve Thompson of Mt. Gilead and Reba Ann Nanney of Mt. Gilead; and his brothers, James Paul Thompson of Mt. Gilead and Irvin Thompson, Jr. of Candor. He is also survived by nine grandchildren.
