He is survived by: his siblings, Frances Martin of Pinehurst, Eunice Douthit of Thomasville, Thomas Byrd (Reba) of Oakboro, Joyce McNeill of Mount Gilead and Harris Byrd (Mary) of Mount Gilead; his nephew Larry; his niece Ellen Thompson; and his close friend Lenny Pigford (Pat) of Mount Gilead.
