He was predeceased by: his parents, Jonah Lynthacum and Mary Wilson Lynthacum; and his siblings, Lois Doby and Curtis "Doc" Lynthacum. He is survived by: his close friend Ina Safrit of Mt. Gilead; his children, Kitty Hamilton of South Florida and Stephen Lynthacum of South Florida; and his siblings, Joann Hall (Keith) of Biscoe, Sara Smith of Albemarle and Roy Lynthacum of Tennessee.
