He was predeceased by: his parents, Lacy Franklin and Annie Bridges Craven; and his wife Avis Nelson Craven. He is survived by: his children, Deborah Thompson (Yankee) of Mt. Gilead, Lewis Craven (Teresa) of Mt. Gilead and Todd Craven of Salisbury; and his grandchildren, Mark Thompson, Terri Smith, Skylar Beaman and Lindley Chisholm. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 157 Mt. Gilead, NC 27306.
