It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Walter Bowman of Mount Airy, North Carolina, born in Surry, Virginia, who passed away on December 12, 2020, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Turner and Gracie Melissa Goins Bowman; and his brothers, William "Bobby" and Sam Bowman. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Bowman; his children, Darlene (Richard Holt), Angela (Robert Johnson), Kim Bowman and Ricky; his daughter-in-law Gwen Bowman; his stepson Sam Barbee (Janice); his grandchildren, Justin Johnson, Jason, Danielle Johnson and Casey Hutchens (Beau); his great grandchildren, Isaac Johnson, Aiden Johnson, Elijah Johnson and Ava Hutchens Cole Hutchens; his brother Coy; and his sisters-in-law, Bonnie Bowman, Nellie Bowman, Pat Bowman and Teressa Ayers.
