It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Wade Columbus Haynes of Mount Airy, North Carolina, born in Surry, Virginia, who passed away on February 29, 2024, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Martin and Mary Catherine "Cassie" Gates Haynes; and his siblings, Diane Marie Haynes, Nellie Taylor, Wanda Midkiff, Tommy Haynes and Joe "Rass" Haynes.

He is survived by: his wife Carol Reece Haynes; his daughter Michelle; his son-in-law Tim Creed; his grandsons, Zane Creed (Amber Ashton) and Zachary Creed (Lauren); his great grandchild Tyree Jackson Creed; his sister Lorraine; his brother-in-law Douglas "Kornell" Hooker; his brother Glenn; and his sister-in-law Ginger Haynes. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
