She was predeceased by: her parents, William E. Coalson and Osie Atkins Coalson; her daughter Shirley Jean Brooks; her brother Edward Coalson; and her brothers-in-law, Joe Bryant, Jimmy Ramey and Larry Laster.
She is survived by: her husband Leonard Ray Brooks; her children, Felicia Brooks Tolbert and Michael Brooks; her grandchildren, Emily Brooks and Andrew Brooks; and her siblings, Mary Faye Ramey, JoAnn Bryant, Donna Laster, Theresa Crouse, Jay (Frances Coalson) and Dale (Sara Coalson). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Due to the limitations of numbers for public gatherings at this time (COVID-19), a private graveside service will be held at Laurel Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
