It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Velma Parnell (Mount Airy, North Carolina), who passed away on December 8, 2018, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her former husband Leslie Jarrell; and her daughter Maria Gayle. She is survived by: her husband Vernon Parnell; her children, Nancy Lewis (Charlie) and Steve Jarrell (Courtney King); her stepchildren, Judy Roach (Rodger), Cindy Johnson (Wayne), Ray Parnell Jr. (Debbie), Mark Parnell (Treva) and Mike Parnell (Janice); her grandchildren, Brandon Gayle (Amanda), Christy Bishop (Mike), Steven Jarrell (Tracie), Madison Cooley (Clinton), Michael Lewis (Stacey) and Heather Morris (Brent); and her sister Allene Martin of Kansas City, MO.. She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren and a host of step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
