He is survived by: his wife Harriet; his sons, Mark Smith (Lynn) of Winston-Salem, Mike Smith (Donna) of Mount Airy and Stewart Smith Jr.; his wife Tracy Smith of Rutherfordton; his grandchildren, Zachary Smith, Stephen Smith, Neil Smith, Shepherd Smith and Xoey Smith; his brother Donald Eugene "Cotton" Smith (Betty); his siblings-in-law, Beadie Smith and Richard Gurley (Mary) of Idaho Falls; and also, Kelly Smith (Amanda) of Harrisburg and Jim Baity of Greensboro.
