It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Jones (Mount Airy, North Carolina), born in Surry, Virginia, who passed away on February 22, 2020, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Roscoe Jefferson, Sr. and Irene Reynolds Jefferson; her husband Jimmy Jones; her daughters, Sharon Jones and Sherry Shelton; and her siblings, Pansy Pedigo, Mecie Williams, Gaynelle Hawks, Deborah Jefferson, Kermit Jefferson and Roy Jefferson.
She is survived by: her daughter Sonya Jones; her grandchildren, Christopher, Ashly Key, Caitlin Key, Sidney Butcher and Brandon Butcher; her great grandchildren, Benjamin Key and Elijah Key; and her siblings, Sarah Redman, Barbara Evans, Doris Bullin, Josie Widener, Roscoe Jefferson, Jr. and Wayne Jefferson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
