He was predeceased by: his parents, Raleigh Columbus and Alice Edwards Rippey; his wife Virginia "Gin" Smith Rippey; his children, Bobby Joe Rippey and Pamela Ann Rippey Tate; and his siblings, Harlie Rippey, Grady Rippey, Paul Rippey, Rawden Rippey, Glenn Rippey and Gladys Hawks.
He is survived by: his sons, Jeffery Wayne Rippey and James Mark Rippey; his grandchildren, Cheyenne Rippey, Nikki Rippey Tilley (Gary), Amber Rippey (Brad), Adam Rippey (Erin), Matthew Crotts, Daniel Tate, Stephanie Rippey and Amanda Danley (Kevin); and his close friend Jessica Williams. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
