He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Kirtless Horton and Nellie Mae Horton; and his siblings, Ruby Parker, Bill Horton, Carrie McMillian, Mahaley Utt and Richard Horton.
He is survived by: his wife Mona Griffin Horton; and his children, Karen Bowers (Rex), Roy Horton, Dee Wilson (Leon), Thomas Horton (Kristi) and Edward Horton (Angela). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
