He was predeceased by: his parents, Sherman Venable and Sara Lou Keaton Venable; his wife Earnestine Nola Cassell Venable; his grandsons, Dale Venable and James Hungerford; his siblings, Bertha Venable, Ollie Venable Quesinberry, Lola Venable Denny, Floyd Venable and Weldon Venable; and his half-brothers, Troy Venable and Garnet Venable.
He is survived by: his daughter Martha; his son-in-law Ken Hatcher of Mount Airy; his sons, Mickey (Alice Venable) of Mount Airy, Michael (Phyllis Venable) of Mount Airy, Milo Venable of Mount Airy and Mitchell (Jane Leigh Venable); his sisters, Faye Stanley, Alma Lou Vernon and Carol Lee Flippin; and his half-sister Rita Jo Atkins. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
