He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Marie Dean Whitaker; his sons, Thomas and David; his sister Gladys Creed; his daughters, Brenda (Larry Jones) and Beulah Blalock; his granddaughters, Crystal (Jimmy Selba) and Hannah Ashburn; his great grandchild Lennon Selba; and his parents, Robert Lee and Mollie Wood Whitaker. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
