He was predeceased by: his parents, Taylor Pruitt and Susie Rogers Pruitt; his wife Daisy Ann Peele Pruitt; his sisters, Bertie Edwards and Irene Mears; his grandmother Lou Venable; and his brothers, Hermon, Wesley, Lee, Amos and Clyde Pruitt.
He is survived by: his children, Robin Pruitt and Alan Pruitt; his grandchildren, Daniel Pruitt and Courtney Pruitt Slate (Levi); and his great grandchild Maverick Slate. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
