She was predeceased by: her parents, Millard Hassell and Carrie Mae Goins Bowman; her daughter Angela Kay Sloan; and her siblings, Nellie Koontz and Robert Bowman.
She is survived by: her husband Gilbert Leslie Sloan; her children, Renay Sloan Dalton of Asheville and Gilbert Lee Sloan (Adrianna) of Yadkinville; her grandchildren, Jacob Sloan, Eli Sloan and Kenan Sloan; and her siblings, Vivian Bowman Whitley of Louisville, Kentucky, Willie (Margrett Bowman) and Junior (Sandy Bowman). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
