With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Peggy Lou Jarrell Tate of Mount Airy, North Carolina, born in Surry, Virginia, who passed away on September 14, 2022 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her father Zebulon Vance; her husband Carlie Ray Tate; her children, Sherry Luanne Tate Tucker, Ronnie Tate and Randy "Yogi" Tate; and her brother Bobby Ray Jarrell, Sr..
She is survived by: her sons, Terry (Marion Tate) and Vann (Kim Tate); her grandchildren, Christopher Goughary, Sean Tate, Dylan Goughary, Jason Tate, Anthony Tate and Karleigh Tate; her stepgrandson Dustin Goughary; and her great grandchildren, Chloe Goughary, Daniel Goughary, Sophia Goughary, Malia Goughary, Addie Goughary and Letti Luanne Smith.
