She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Duncan and Avalee Edwards Duncan Atkins; her husband John Calhoun Dickenson, Sr.; her sister Jean; her brother-in-law Jerry Jamison of Roanoke, Virginia; and her stepfather Munsey Atkins.
She is survived by: her children, Ellen Dickenson Gimbert (Chad) of Oak Ridge and John Calhoun Dickenson, Jr. (Michele) of Pinnacle; her grandchildren, Whitney Gimbert Silva, Travis of Holly Springs, Julie Gimbert, Romeo Dilla of Kernersville, John Calhoun Dickenson, III of Pinnacle and Hayden Dickenson of Pinnacle; her great grandchild Brinleigh; her siblings, Mary Ellen (Rocky Carneal), Joan (Art Winters) and Fred Duncan (Pat) of Roanoke, Virginia; and her siblings-in-law, Don and Pam Dickenson of Galax, Virginia. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
