It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ora Gene Cockerham of Mount Airy, North Carolina, born in Surry, Virginia, who passed away on August 13, 2022, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Dan Cockerham; his wife Nannie Matthews Cockerham; and his children, Brenda Cockerham, Linda Browder and Bruce Cockerham.

He is survived by: his son-in-law Gray Browder; his grandchildren, Heather Golding (Charles) and Matthew Cockerham; his great grandchildren, Courtney Ore (Brian) and Devin Gammons; and his great great grandchildren, Oaklynn and Lucas.
