She is survived by: her children, Patricia (Anthony Carter), Sheryl Angel, Don (Florena Dowdy), Bob (Scarlett Dowdy) and Sam Dowdy; her grandchildren, David Carter (Christy), Jessica Carter, Shantel Jay-Peterson (Jayson), Danny Dowdy, Kayla Miller, Meredith Dowdy and Oshyn Bryant; her great grandchildren, D. J. Carter, Madison Carter, Leilani Jay-Peterson, Hannah Jay-Peterson, Keana Khandowdy, Rolyn Miller and Alaina Miller; and her sister-in-law Joan Sands.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Moravian Church at 1401 N. Main St. Mt. Airy, NC 27030 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
