It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nila Rose Marie Samter of Mount Airy, North Carolina, who passed away on January 6, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse "Pete" Starkey and Eula Mae Starkey; and her husband James Samter. She is survived by: her children, Judith, Sonya and Todd; and her great grandchildren, Katelyn, Ashlyn, Madison, Mackenzie, Skylar, Maximus, Caleb, Benjamin, Simeon, Olivia, Brayden, Emerson, Hudson, Ariyason, Benson, Myla and Thea. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
