She was predeceased by: her parents, Fannie Teague and Conley Teague; her brother Bedford; and her husband Norfleet Umstead. She is survived by: her sons, Conley Umstead and Kevin Umstead (Pamela); and her grandchildren, Sean, Peter and Jennifer. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Senior Adult Ministries, 714 N. Main St. Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
