It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mary Arnder Vipperman of Mount Airy, North Carolina, born in Surry, Virginia, who passed away on July 10, 2020, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lorenzo Ellis and Clara Senter Mosley; her former husband Chester Arnder; her husband Willard Lee Vipperman; her son Wesley Mosley; her sister Marie Gammons; and her cousin Edith Wray.
She is survived by: her daughter Donna; her son-in-law Mitchell Wilson of Mount Airy; her sons, Gary Arnder of Mount Airy and Gregory; her daughter-in-law Tonya Arnder of Cana, VA; her stepson Steven (Susan Arnder) of Mount Airy; her grandchildren, Mandy of Mount Airy, Luke Gravitte of Mount Airy and Wesley Wilson of Mount Airy; her stepgrandchildren, Chris, Christi Arnder of Mount Airy, Cynthia, Carl Mercer of Myrtle Beach, SC, Christina and Darryl Combs of Mountain City, TN; and her close friend Sherri Hiatt of Ararat, VA.. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Respecting the current limitations of numbers for public gatherings at this time (COVID-19), a graveside service will be held Thursday, July 16, 2020, at 11:00 AM at Old Hollow Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Steve Johnson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Westside Baptist Church, 107 Spring Creek Trail, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
