It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Manuel Joseph Ayers of Mount Airy, North Carolina, who passed away on August 3, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus Emanuel and Savada Emaline Ayers; his wife Helen Adele Ayers; and his siblings, Amy Zettie Ayers Guynn, Ollie Ayers, Lucy Mae Ayers, Julia June Ayers Guynn, Victor Ernest Ayers and Rufus Junior Ayers.

He is survived by: his daughter Marla Ayers; and his sister-in-law JoAnn Marshall. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cana Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 64 Leonhardt Dr., Cana, VA 24317.
