He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Lee Cheek and Ann Marie Clinch. He is survived by: his son Carson Spencer Cheek (Kelsey Nicole Hill); his grandchildren, Charlotte Rose Cheek and Hartlyn Ann Snow; his brother Dr. Howard Lee Cheek, Jr. (Kathy Braun Cheek); his aunt Evie Weston (Keith Weston); and his close friend Mel Jones. He is also survived by three cousins.
Since the emergence of the Covid-19 virus, Rick had been actively engaged in testing individuals for the virus, regardless of any personal risk to himself.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to either the General Fund of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 155, Pinnacle, NC, 27043, or Boy Scout Troop 400, at the same address.
