It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Love Banner Diffee Smith (Mount Airy, North Carolina), born in Greensboro, North Carolina, who passed away on May 23, 2022, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Love Banner Diffee and James Marsh Diffee, Jr.; her husband Raymond Alfred Smith; and her brothers, James Marsh Diffee, III and William Sherman Diffee.

She is survived by: her sons, James Raymond Smith, II (Pamela Fulp Smith) and Michael David Smith (Stacey Bruneau Smith); her grandchildren, Louisa Love Smith (Jerry Bennett), Jamie Smith King (Allen King), James Raymond Smith III (Manika Gupta), Joseph Graham Rutledge Smith and Chloe Elizabeth Smith; and her great grandchildren, Brian Bennett, John Bennett, Franklin Bennett and Hunter Largen.
