He is survived by: his wife Eileen Newman; his children, Vickie Riekehof (Paul) of Mount Airy, Leon Newman, Jr. (Patty), Carol Cockerline (Dean) and Susan Smith (David) of Pilot Mountain; his grandchildren, Lee Ann, Phillip, Laurie, Kelsey, Sharon, Patrick, Ashley, Brian, Tyler and Kevin; and his great grandchildren, Robby, Caleb, Carter, Henry, Ellie, Grayson and Heath.
