He was predeceased by: his parents, James Ellis Ring Sr. and Bessie Brown Ring; his daughters, Judy Burgess and Robin Ring; his siblings, Lorene Willard, Lucille Ring and James Ellis "Bill" Ring Jr.; and his great grandchild Henry Blackman.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Ring; his children, Jill Puckett (Mark), Janet Ring, Susan Slate (Craig), Jennifer Ring, Dale, Larry Gilbert, Joel Ring (Lisa Mabe) and Jason Ring (Misty); and his siblings, Linda Inman (Jimmy) and Lawrence Ring (Joyce). He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren; two step grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren, eight step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
