He was predeceased by: his parents, C. L. Scott and Barbara Marshall Scott. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Gwyn Scott; his children, Amy Scott (William Morris), Jamie (Tony Raymond) and Larry Dean "Scotty" Scott, II; his daughter-in-law Amy; his godchild Laken Lawson; his grandchildren, Emilee Balthis, Jaxton Raymond, Cooper Scott and Lily Scott; and his brother David Blankenship.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Oxford Orphanage, 600 College Street, Oxford, NC 27565.
