He was predeceased by: his parents, Anderson Payne and Sarah Johnson Payne; and his wife Frances Marie Bowman Payne. He is survived by: his sister Pauline Payne Martin of Mount Airy; his great-niece Stacey Sizemore of Mount Airy; his cousin Ella Mae Moser of Mount Airy; and also, Callie Nichols of Mount Airy and Mason Nichols of Mount Airy.
