It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jo Ann Brintle of Mount Airy, North Carolina, born in Roanoke, Virginia, who passed away on August 1, 2020, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond K. Newsome and Evelyn Ferrell Newsome; her husband Fred Garnett Brintle, Sr.; and her brother James C. "Sonny" Newsome. She is survived by: her son Fred Garnett Brintle, Jr.; her daughter-in-law Melody Brintle of Mount Airy; her grandchildren, Danielle Brintle of Mount Airy and Kaleb Brintle of Mount Airy; and her sister Betty Newsome Bledsoe of Mount Airy.
Respecting the current limitations of numbers for public gatherings at this time (COVID-19), a graveside celebration of Jo Ann's life will be held Wednesday, August 5, 2020, at 11:00 AM at White Plains Friends Meeting Cemetery, with the Rev. Jake Penley officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030; or donate blood in memory of Jo Ann to the American Red Cross.
