He was predeceased by: his father Charlie Ross; his siblings, Herbert Gene Ross, Charlene Cecil Vanover and Joyce Ross Phipps; and his niece Janel Woods.
He is survived by: his sisters, Novella Woods (Larry) of Daleville and Betsy Phillips (Roy) of Stearns, Kentucky; his wife Brenda Ross of Georgia; his daughters, Rebecca Basset (Tim) of Muncie, Maria Faussett (James) of Fort Myers and Tracy Chalmers of Marion, Indiana; his niece Donna Cecil Brown; and his great-niece Summer Harris. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; four nieces; nine nephews.
