It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hilda Ann Creed Nichols of Mount Airy, North Carolina, born in Surry, Virginia, who passed away on January 23, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Johnny Lindsay and Betty Moser Creed; her granddaughter Jenna Ann Benfield; and her siblings, Arlene Stewart, Norma Tucker, Hugh Malen Creed and Joe Creed.
She is survived by: her husband Ben Gentry Nichols; her daughter Robin; her son-in-law Jim Benfield of Mount Airy; her sons, Benny (Caroline Nichols) and Kenny (Tonya Nichols); her grandchildren, Tara Benfield, Candice Simpson, Benjamin Nichols, Will Nichols, Sierra Nichols and Brooke Nichols; and her great grandchildren, Amelia Simpson, Rhett Hodges, Rylan Hodges, Hendrix Nichols, Wyatt Simpson and Adeline Nichols. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
