He is survived by: his parent Hassie Ayers Hawks Sutphin; his daughters, Jane Ayers, Roy Ayers of Mount Airy, Lynn Holmes and Lewis Holmes of Pilot Mountain; his grandchildren, Alex Sawyers, Carissa Sawyers of Denver, Holly Sawyers of Charlotte, Adam Lewis of Dobson and Landon Holmes of Mount Airy; his great grandchild Briley Sawyers of Denver; his sister Nancy Transou; his brother-in-law Tony Transou of Mount Airy; his nieces and nephews, Valerie Draughn of Mount Airy, Chad Draughn of Mount Airy, Kevin Clark of Mount Airy, Sarah Clark of Mount Airy, Neil Casstevens and Jennifer Casstevens of Charlotte; and his great-nieces, Landon Casstevens, Lacie Casstevens, Savanhah Draughn and Grayson Draughn.
