He was predeceased by: his parents, Grady Elzavan and Margaret Elizabeth McHone Johnson; his son Mark Edward Johnson; and his siblings, Stella Johnson Hawks and Billy Gray Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Lee "Cookie" Stewart Johnson; his son Michael Stewart Johnson; his daughters-in-law, Beth Hamblin and Christy Johnson; his grandchildren, Levi Johnson, Melinda Mosley (Nicky), Brittany Huff (Nick), Beth Hicks (R. J. Mears) and Sherrie Gross (Bubba); his sister Patsy Johnson Amburn; and his sister-in-law Glenda Stewart Hunter.
