He was predeceased by: his brother Clyde Sutphin. He is survived by: his children, Hallie McHone Sutphin and Josh Sutphin; his brothers, William "Billy" Sutphin and John Wayne Sutphin (Cynthia); his stepbrother Frankie Leon DeHart, Jr; and also Jimmy. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
