It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gertrude Kegley (Mount Airy, North Carolina), born in Surry, Virginia, who passed away on January 17, 2020, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Guy and Zora Hawks Dickens; her son Gregory Thomas Stewart, Sr.; her sister Woltz York; her stepfather Letcher Brown; her stepsons, Donald and Dennis Kegley; and her stepson-in-law Steve Fields.
She is survived by: her husband Lee C. Kegley; her daughter-in-law Patricia Stewart of Kernersville; her stepdaughters, Patsy Dalton of Mt. Airy and Trenna Fields of Dalton, GA; and her grandchildren, Tom Stewart (Karen) and Sandi Easter (Johnny). She is also survived by four great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and six step-great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to Liberty Baptist Church, Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 305, Lowgap, NC 27024 or the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd., Dobson, NC 27017.
