He was predeceased by: his parents, Garnett Jefferson Cecil, Sr. and Nellie Aldred Cecil; and his siblings, Reitha Kaye Cecil Ramey, Bill Cecil and Bobby Cecil.
He is survived by: his wife Ila Hodges Cecil; his daughter Tiffany "Red"; his children-in-law, Scotty Bullins of Ararat, VA, Brad of Mount Airy, Stephanie Dowell of Mount Airy, Josh of Mount Airy and Tara Dowell of Mount Airy; his granddaughters, Gracie Rae Bullins of Ararat, VA and Emma Grace Dowell of Mount Airy; his sisters, Nancy Surratt of Mount Airy, Mattie Sue (Neil Easter) and Teena (Calvin Moxley); and his close friend Dusty. He is also survived by several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; many nieces and nephews.
