He was predeceased by: his parents, Ben Hensley and Bertie Mae Handy Hensley; his wife Carol Afton Hensley; his siblings, Goldie Young, Ruth Hensley, Dude and William Hensley; and his half-siblings, Lizzie Handy and John Hensley.
He is survived by: his sons, Kenneth Hensley and Roscoe (Teresa Hensley); his brother Harrison Hensley; his grandchildren, Carol (John Ryneski), Benjamin (Raven Hensley), John (Rebekah Hensley) and Austin Hensley; and his great grandchildren, Blake Ryneski, Jacek Ryneski and Carson Hensley.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Goins Family Cemetery, c/o Doug Goins, 943 S. Franklin Rd., Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
