She was predeceased by: her husband Buddy Ashby (Charlie Randleman); her son Robert E. Ashby, III; and her sister Doris Gehring. She is survived by: her daughter Lou Ashby Young (Bob) of Greensboro; her granddaughter April Ashby of Charlotte; her daughter-in-law Sue Ashby of Winston-Salem; and her nephews, John Gehring (Jane) of Winston-Salem and Robert Gehring of King.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church 714 North Main St., Mount Airy, NC 27030 or to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
