It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ernestine (Emma) Boyd of Mount Airy, North Carolina, who passed away on January 31, 2021, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parent Sarah McMillian Guynn; her children, Marie Hawks, Bill Boyd Jr. (Linda), Troy Boyd (Kallie) and Bobby Boyd (Melissa); her grandchildren, Willie Hawks, Monroe Hawks, Joey Hawks and Mike Hawks; her stepgrandchildren, Tim, Alisha Beck, Dennis, Sandy George, Christine, Willie Gwynn, Misty Freeman and Doug Vaughn; her brothers, Jonah Gwynn and Jay Gwynn; her husband William Bryant Boyd; her grandson Homer Hawks; her son-in-law Bill Hawks; and her siblings, Martha McMillian, Mary Haynes, Elsie Gwynn, Virginia Allen and Joshua Gwynn. She was also cherished by six great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
