He was predeceased by: his parents, Elbert Morris and Mary Beatrice Murphy Killen; his sisters, Jame Lee Bartley, Jean Shupping and Jeanette Lineberry; and also Elbert "Pete" Killon, Jr..
He is survived by: his daughter Susan Renee Thoren of North Carolina; and his close friend Joyce Anderson. He is also survived by several grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
