It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Douglas Steven Kallam of Mount Airy, North Carolina, born in Surry, Virginia, who passed away on April 28, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father William Allen; and his siblings, Lou Nell Hardy, Lemuel Wallace Kallam and Randall Simpson Kallam. He is survived by: his wife Norma Leftwich Kallam; his son Winston; his daughter-in-law Karen Kallam; his grandsons, Jake Kallam and Jesse Kallam; his siblings, Wanda (Bill Benbow), Judy (Tim Gray), Kenneth Kallam and Larry; and his sister-in-law Sharon Kallam. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
