It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doris Inez Atkins of Mount Airy, North Carolina, born in Surry, Virginia, who passed away on August 28, 2021, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank James and Nellie Lucinda Quesinberry Bennett; her husband Lacy McIver Atkins; and her siblings, Hassie Pauline Bennett, Irene Fay Bennett Jones and Billy Elmo Bennett.
She is survived by: her sons, Steve (Vera Atkins) and Chris (Dalette Atkins); her grandchildren, Lauren and Zach Dillon; her great grandchildren, Caroline Dillon and Rose Dillon; and her brother Wayne Douglas Bennett. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
