It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Danny Ray Hooker of Mount Airy, North Carolina, born in Surry, Virginia, who passed away on August 11, 2023, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnny "Edd" Hooker and Lillian Johnson Hooker; his brothers, Donald (Noretta Hooker) and Douglas Hooker; and his half-brother Clayton Hooker.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Mayes Hooker; his daughters, Stephanie (Gerald Hardy) and Heather (Terry Wooten); his grandchildren, Emma, Olivia Hardy, Elijah and Hannah Wooten; and his sister-in-law Sandra Hooker. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 1427 Edgewood Dr. Suite 101, Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
