He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Smith and Flora Elizabeth Boyd Smith; and his siblings, Milton Carl Smith, Jesse Kyle Smith, Donald D. Smith, James Lee Smith, Raleigh Swanson Smith, Hassell Gene Smith, Calvin Gray Smith and Susan Smith Combs.
He is survived by: his wife Mamie Gwynn Smith; his daughter Wendy Smith Marion (Joshua Bishop); his grandchildren, Colt Smith Marion and Clara Renae Marion; his siblings, William "Bill" Smith, Alvin Smith, Jack Smith and Bettie Watts; his siblings-in-law, Oscar Combs and Susie Smith; and his nephews, Roger Allen (John Plasman) and Roy Smith (Beth). He is also survived by daughter and grandchildren.
