He was loved and cherished by many people including: his sister Loretta "Ducky" Newman Queen; his grandchildren, Jesse Ray Smith, Jimmy and Wade Galyean Jr.; his wife Teressa Dykes Newman; his children, Richard Franklin Hall of Maury, NC, Charles Anthony Newman II (Amanda), Amanda Thompson Wing (David) of Norwood, NC, Patricia Newman Galyean (Jimmy) of Mount Airy and Sonia Danesha Ingram of Norwood; his siblings, Everette Franklin Powers (Becky) of Asheboro, Isaac "Buddy" Frank Newman, Jr. (Donna), William Russell Queen (Jane) of Mount Airy, Myrtle Powers Thompson (Carl) of Mount Airy, Marita "Rita" Newman Robertson and Shirley Wilson of Mount Airy; and also, Calvin Wade Wilson and Arlon "Cotton" Powers. He was also cherished by eleven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
