She was predeceased by: her parents, Omar D. Kiger and Lola M. Collins Kiger; her children, Myra Brim and Tony Kiger; and her sister Dolores LeFever.
She is survived by: her husband Jack E. Venable; her children, Lee Ann Vaughn (Chris) and Mitch McPhetridge (Anna); and her brother Joel Kiger (Martha). She is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
