She was predeceased by: her parents, John Wells and Pearl Loupe Wells; and her husbands, Alex Harvey Smith and James Spangler. She is survived by: her daughter Pamela Palmer (John); her grandchildren, Jeremy Palmer (Misty), Kristina Palmer, Daniel Palmer (Kim) and Briana Palmer; her great grandchildren, Andrea Palmer, Max Palmer and Jamie Palmer; her stepchildren, James Everett Spangler Jr., Smokey Lee Spangler (Ruth) and Yvonne Elaine Zabrucky (Greg); her stepgrandchildren, Michelle, Stephen, Tommy, Candace, Kimberly and Kelly; and her stepgreat-granddaughters, Jessica and Danielle.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Cox-Needham Funeral Home (822 W Main St, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Salisbury National Cemetery.
